Both Worlds is a South African film, television and digital production company with a proven track record of producing African content for local and global audiences since 1998. The company has won 27 South African Film and TV Awards (SAFTAS), 2 Int’l Emmy nominations, 10 IAB Bookmarks, 2 WGSA Muse Awards and the 2010 Financial Mail Newsmaker of the Year Award.
In alternative and non-scripted, Both Worlds is known for its popular weekly satirical news show, Puppet Nation, where puppets take the mickey out of newsmakers and celebrities, the TV comedy panel shows Point of Order and Parlement Parlement, on StarSat, Showmax, SABC and Kyknet, as well as CCN on Viacom’s Comedy Central Africa.
Both Worlds’ high-end scripted productions include Recipes for Love and Murder, a murder mystery series starring Maria Doyle Kennedy based on the eponymous best-selling novel by Sally Andrew, in coproduction with Pirate Production (UK), Mnet, AMC Acorn (US) and Global Screen (Ger), now in season 2 development. The company is in pre-production of The Morning After, a 8 half-hour comedy drama in association with Amazon and ARD. The feature length documentary Africa and I, directed by Othmane Zolati, available on Showmax, won best First Feature at the Los Angeles pan-African Film Festival.
